I looked out my kitchen window one spring morning and saw a stately mocking bird perched in a dogwood tree. What a beautiful sight! He was a perfect example of Tennessee's state bird. East Tennessee is known for its beautiful dogwoods and the Knoxville Dogwood Festival.
